ACTIVITIES ON THE KENAI PENINSULA AND COOPER LANDING

White Water Rafting:  Class 4 and 5    Spring, summer or fall Raft on Six Mile Creek through three canyons on class four and five rapids. Professional white water companies with 20 years experience will get you through this exhilarating adventure. Spring and summer are the big water times but for more technical rafting the fall offers some exciting class four - five rafting.  Canyons one & two are available for younger athletic adolescents while the third canyon is restricted to those over 16 years of age.  Less than 16 years of age through the third canyon is possible, but there must be a reason for them to let you go. (If you are on the swim team or training for the Olympics stuff like this will help) . This is a major rush and adrenalin junkies are preferred. See Drifters Lodge Rafting page.
Scenic Rafting: Class 1 and 2    Explore the upper Kenai River. This is the float trip that all ages can enjoy.  This is a spectacular two hour scenic raft trip includes wildlife viewing and educational talks.  Rafts set sail at various times throughout the day.   Everyone invited on this float. See Drifters Lodge Rafting page.

Kenai Lake Kayaking Explore the shoreline of the Kenai Lake or spend the night on Porcupine Island. Trip meeting times are 9:00am for Porcupine Island Overnighter and Porcupine Island Full Day Tour. For Quartz Creek Half Day Tour, trip meeting times are 9am, 1pm, and 5pm.

Flight Seeing: Alaska is famous for bush pilots.  They will fly almost anyplace.  Many flight seeing packages are available. Choose from a quick 15 minute scenic float plane ride around the Cooper Landing area to a 90 minute glacier and wildlife tour.  You say you don’t have time to go to Denali Park, think again.  In 4.5 hours 5 people can fly up to and around Mt McKinley and back.  Total price for all 5 is only $1600 - $1300 depends where you depart from (Cooper Landing or Seward.)  This can actually be an economical way and to say the least a spectacular way to see Denali Park.  Hiking drop-off’s are available, that’s right, they drop you off on top of the mountain and you get to hike downhill to your car (not to bad). See Drifters Lodge Flight Seeing page.

Bear Viewing, Flight Seeing and Fishing: Fly on an eight seat float plane to the west side of Cook Inlet for bear watching and fishing.  (Red salmon fishing, June 10 thru July 20 and Silver salmon July 20 thru August 31)   Observe black and brown bears as they feed, rest and play while you fish right along side of the bears. Call for info.  See Drifters Lodge Flight Seeing page.

Guided Fishing: All year long, any kind you are looking for (kings, silvers, reds, rainbows, dolly varden, steelhead, halibut and more.) See Drifters Lodges’ 12 pages of fishing
