On The Drifters Lodge Property

Aerial view of Kenai River Drifters Lodge surrounded by lush fall-colored trees and cozy cabins near the water.

Our property lies between the Sterling Highway and Kenai River, gently sloping down to the river and featuring stunning scenery in every direction. To the north, we have views of Slaughter Ridge and Langille Mountain while Cecil Rhodes Mountain watches over us from the south.

The river is a classic, stunning, glacial blue color that flows past our dock, constantly changing throughout the season in water level and rate. Lodging accommodations include 6 private cabins, our Eagle’s Nest apartment and a 5 bedroom, 3 bath River House.

Our Swedish sauna features a stunning picture window overlooking the Kenai, along with a communal, riverside fire pit that is enjoyed each evening. Marshmallows included!

Wildlife can be seen throughout the year, including moose and sometimes bear along the river banks. High in the mountains to either side, spotted through binoculars or scope, we often see Dall sheep and mountain goats.

We also see a wide variety of birds such as arctic terns, bald eagles, trumpeter swans, ducks and even owls! The occasional lynx makes an appearance in our area and lucky anglers may spot a wolf or coyote along the river while out on a trip.

We experience long summer days – it’s the land of the midnight sun, after all! When the skies get dark we are treated to incredible views of the stars and milky way. Lucky guests may even experience the aurora borealis (aka Northern Lights) in early spring or late fall!
